Arizona Grass Raised Beef

Dewey, Arizona

Arizona Grass Raised Beef began in 2007. Tim Petersen was raised in Arizona and is a third generation meat cutter who spent his life working on ranches and training mules. As a first generation cattle rancher he set out to sell beef raised the way nature intended, and to cut it himself rather than hand it to a packer.

It is a family operation. Tim’s wife, his children and his grandchildren all have a part in the business, and the mission he set has not changed: give a family quality beef, nurtured and prepared with care. The company also works with partner ranchers across Arizona who hold to the same principles, so a purchase puts money in the pockets of ranchers throughout the state.

The cattle graze native grasses and flowers across millions of acres of open range. Arizona’s climate gives three seasons of grass in different parts of the state, so the herds move to greener country through the year and graze all twelve months. Mother cows stay on the ranch four to six years. Beef is 100 percent grass fed and grass finished, harvested one animal at a time in the company’s own USDA inspected plant, dry aged, hand cut, ground fresh and packed on site, then shipped frozen anywhere in the United States including Alaska and Hawaii.
