Swanson Family Farm
Hampton, Georgia
Swanson Family Farm was established in March of 2008 as Wayne Swanson’s dream of a small farm to raise food for his family and friends. Wayne grew up in Woodbury, New Jersey, a few miles from the ten acre farm where his grandparents Claude and Artie raised eighteen children. What the farm is today grew from seeds his parents and grandparents planted.
It is a 32 acre farm run by the Swanson family, Wayne, Charmaine and their son Jekhi. They specialize in grass fed and pasture raised beef, lamb, goat and pork, and they keep Georgia Pineywoods cattle, hair sheep and heritage breeds of goats and hogs. Wayne also personally vets the partner farms across the Southeast whose meat he carries, so that everything sold under the family name is raised to the same standard.
The aim is straightforward: the highest quality product raised on pasture or in the woods, with no commercial feed and no steroids or hormones. You can buy at the farm, online, at local farmers markets, through private chefs, or at one of the restaurants the farm partners with.
